This vintage firearm is a Colt Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol, chambered in .38 Super. Commonly referred to as a "Model of 1929 .38 Super" by most collectors, this pistol was manufactured in 1931 in the first 12 months of production. (S.N.: 8807)
0% blue remaining on slide; 1-2% remaining on frame; Some rust stains, but no pitting; Grips have been replaced with WW II-vintage brown plastic grips; Bore is good, and generally good overall mechanical condition.
This rare .38 Super is a very good candidate for restoration, as all roll marks, lettering and numbers are crisp and legible.
