This Winchester Model 74 Auto digests .22 Short only; it is serially numbered 564xx, of 1940 provenance according to R. L. Wilson’s serialization. Barrel is 24 inches long, and it feeds through the buttstock with a capacity of a dozen to 15 rounds. Even though the receiver has considerable brownness and the barrel has developed a spotty appearance – only conspicuous in direct light – we consider it to be a strong Very Good finishwise. We estimate there to be 80 to 90 percent of what bluing was on this rifle originally still visible on the barrel. Buttstock is a plain oil finish – or better, no finish – with slight residue underneath of what may have been the original finish. Wood appears to have been stripped and de-oiled; it is its natural wood finish. Apart from that, the only detraction to the wood is a small gouge, about 1/16 inch by ¼ inch, near the steel buttplate, shown in the photos. Action is very tight, bore is excellent, and bolt and extractor surface retain much of their original finish. This is a really nice Model 74. The gold trigger retains all its finish, though toning has developed. This rifle, as the photos show, and as it shows much more so in person, is not really classifiable by a hard-nosed finish grading. Photos should suffice for interested parties to determine the extent of their concurrence. We’re offering this fine old .22 Short Model 74, now 68 years old, for only $639.95

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
