These are prototypes for the anticipated line of Golden Eagle .22 semi-auto rifles in 1980. BOTH are: .22LR semiauto, 23 1/4” barrel, folding leaf rear sight, ramped bead front, tang safety, alloy receiver, thin Pachmayr “basketweave” rifle pad, black plastic pistol grip cap, uncheckered, gloss poly finish, about 13 7/8” LOP. Made in Japan by Nikko, in same factory as Winchester 101 & 23 shotguns, Weatherby Mark XXII rifles, and Golden Eagle 7000 rifles. It’s unknown if either will function and/or fire. Clip model doesn’t have cutout in bottom of stock for clip access, and has incomplete bottom plate. Both seem to have heavy bolt springs. As these were made for show, wood figure is quite nice, and both are in mint condition. Original product introduction catalog included. Serial numbers 100001 for clip, and 200001 for tube feed. $1200 for the pair.
