Here is the classic SWD version of the Ingram Machine Pistol copies. The Ingram, the parent pistol, was invented in 1964 and variants of it saw service on a limited basis in Viet Nam and in domestic law enforcement applications in the United States. S.W. Daniel Company in Marietta Georgia began production of this semi-auto version in the late 1970s, but BATF stopped production in 1982 because the pistols fired from an open bolt and were too tempting for owners to fiddle with and try to modify. This is one of the Cobrays made after the modification. From its serial number prefix it was manufactured in 1989, so it is pre-federal-ban. Barrel is 4 1/4 inch threaded. This pistol weighs a hefty 56 ounces empty with magazine included. Overall length is 10 1/2 inches, and height is 11 inches with magazine inserted. Construction is all steel with polymer backstrap / magazine release housing. Safety is lever style, mounted on the side of the frame; and sights are aperture rear and shielded post front. This pistol comes to us from one of our favorite Texas collectors. It has its original black nylon Cobray Logo carrying case, a total of five SWD/Cobray polymer body steel floorplate 30 shot magazines; an aftermarket steel saddle type brass deflector; a muffler type 8 inch factory shrouded barrel extension; an 11 1/2 inch fake suppressor; and a six inch fake suppressor. Note that its owner outfitted it with a hellfire trigger mechanical device to simulate selective fire. We have a low opinion of the Hellfire devices, but it’s a freebie. Surface detractions are only moderate, with moderate amounts of surface scouring. We rate this pistol as Very Good, close to Excellent, since no more than 15 percent of its surfaces are affected by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Replacement pricing on all this equipment and the gun is well over $800.00 for similar equipment from successor Masterpiece Arms. We're offering this pistol and all its accessories, however, for only $ 489.00. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $10 lower 48; $30 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
