Serial # 22284. A great example of the standard Jap Type 99 rifle, chambered for 7.7 MM, this rifle is in representative condition of most Japanese surrender guns. The rifle has seen heavy use, bit is in overall pretty good condition. Finish is about 70%, there are some rust spots (most should clean up) all over the rifle, the buttplate is quite rusty. Stock condition is good, only a few service dings. The bore is good also. This was a surrender rifle, however the mum was ground. The flip-up anti-aircraft rear sight is present with the wings. There are no importer’s markings on the rifle, and the cleaning rod is present. The rifle does not have a bipod or dust cover. This is a great Arisaka that should fit nicely in your collection. Add a Jap bayonet and you also have a great wall-hanger.
