Here is a Special Purpose Camo Remington 870 Magnum that rolled off the Ilion, New York Assembly line in April of 2005. This is an 870 SP, not an Express. Barrel is 26 inch Vent Rib, synthetic stock and forend, and finish is entirely Mossy Oak. Surface Detractions are minimal to moderate, none of them conspicuous. There iare moderate amounts to wear on the sharp edges of the finish and metal, but the original finish is strong, 85 to 90 percent intact by our estimate, close to Excellent Status. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Shell streaking on the carrier is moderate, and most of this shotgun’s action came in our local dove fields. Sights are ivory colored front bead with steel middle bead. Capacity 4 + 1 in 2 3/4 inch or 3 + 1 in 3 inch magnum shells. Replacement price on the Express, not as well finished as this one, is $500 or more in our area.
