These extremely rare special order sets were manufactured from the mid '60s to the early '70s. This one was produced in 1973, and signed twice by the master engraver, "L. Ernst", on the left side of the receiver. This is one of the best examples of 100% master level, deep relief engraving with seven gold inlays. The left side features three pheasants flying, encircled by a gold wire. The right side shows three mallards ducks also encircled by a gold wire. The bottom of the receiver shows a single flying quail. Each of the four barrels has a matching wedge of floral engraving at the breech which flows into the engraved reciever.
The stock is deluxe grade claro walnut showing a vivid figuring throughout and is fitted with a vented Browning recoil pad. Both the beaver tail forend and the pistol grip exhibit deluxe extremely fine checkering.
