Sylvester H. Roper Repeating Shotgun 12 ga Mf’d 1869-1876 . Bore is dark and has pitting, Mech Near Exc, Wood VG plus has a old coat of varnish also has the original metal buttplate. Has a 28” Rd barrel with brass bead front sight and choke on the end. The receiver is complete with dust cover on top marked Roper Sporting Arms Co.Hartford Conn Patent April 10,1866 July 14,1868 . The Serial#295 marked on the barrel and receiver under the forearm. Has a 4 shot rotating cylinder. Metal overall has a dark aged brown patina finish with some fine to light pitting in areas muzzle mainly. Used special steel shells . Made in Amherst Mass 1866-1868 then moved to Hartford Conn 1869-1876. Serial numbers are separate for each location. 1 on up.
