The serial number is 1095xxx dating it's manufacture to 1935.(The barrel is dated 1934.) The early nature of the gun shows the early upper tang and a very rarely found Lyman No. 41 receiver sight, probably factory installed. These sights were mostly found on the autoloading rifles (1905, 1907 and 1910) and on the model 1895. It was last cataloged by Lyman in 1943. These sights by them selves are scarce, and command prices above $150 when they can be found. The wood is all in good shape. Better than 50% of the original varnish remains. Carbines were offered in the M64 for only two years (1933 and 1934) and production of 20" barrels ceased during WWII, so the carbines are a scarce configuration.
