This is a pre 64 Flat Band Carbine made in 1948. . The receiver assay rates about 97% bluing . The barrel and mag tube rate about 98.5% bluing. The wood is excellent and is proud to the metal edges. The bore looks pristine and mirror bright with no corrosion. The mechanics are perfect.. Judging by face of the bolt this rifle appears to have not been shot very much at all. It retains its original front and rear sights as well as front sight hood and original steel butt plate. The screws are excellent and not damaged from improper use of screw drivers. There are no additional holes or alterations. These Flat Band models were only produced for a very short period of time. This one is 67 years old now and is an excellent example.
