GOLD FILLED LETTERING ON BARREL IS PARTLY FAIDED, OTHERWISE A BEAUTY OF A REVOLVER THAT IS UNIQUE, BUT STILL A SHOOTER. Year of Manufacture: 1977 Caliber: .45 Colt Action Type: Single and Double Action Swing-Out Cylinder Revolver Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “.45 CALIBER” and the right side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON / 125TH ANNIVERSARY”. The right sideplate is marked with an S&W logo which has “SMITH & WESSON / 1” above it and “125 YEARS” below it. The right side of the frame has the four line “Marcas Registradas” address. Barrel Length: 6 ½” Sights / Optics: The revolver is mounted with fixed serrated ramp front sight that has a red insert. There is a white outline S&W Micrometer Click adjustable rear sight. The grips are smooth Goncalo alves target grips with silver colored S&W logo medallions. There is a blue “velvet” lined, rosewood stained mahogany presentation box with key, and a rectangular gold colored metal inset on the cover. The inscription on the inset reads “Smith & Wesson / 125th Anniversary Commemorative. There is a pewter colored “coin” with a likeness of Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson on one side and the same S&W logo that has been described on the sideplate. Contained in the lid, held in by leather straps is a book by Roy G. Jenks “125 Years With Smith & Wesson”. There were 9948 of this collector’s edition made, all in 1977.
