Stock: Military wood with sling cut. "Low wood" fore-end. Crossed-cannons cartouche on right rear of stock. Nice burl in the walnut in the fore-stock.
Condition: Excellent condition.
Details, Etc: This is the real deal! Manufacture date on the barrel is March of 1944. All of the critical points indicate that this is a Type 2 rifle: barrel band, milled/adjustable rear sight, extractor and round-top bolt are both blued, butt-plate, op-rod, and low-wood fore-end are all correct.
Muzzle crown is clean and sharp.
Barrel is marked "INLAND MFG DIV., GENERAL MOTORS, 3-44".
Top of barrel is marked "P" just ahead of barrel band.
Receiver behind rear sight is marked "INLAND DIV." above Serial Number.
Serial Number is 5284xxx.
Rear sight is marked "PI" at right side.
Front sight is marked "N" just behind the blade.
Mag release is marked "M".
No marks inside the sling cut.
Comes with five 15-round magazines.
Comes with ammo! 800-round sealed tin of Lake City .30 Carbine, Lot #12686. One open/full 50-rd paper box of the same Lot #, head-stamped "L C 44". Five full 50-rd boxes of recent-production Winchester 110-gr ball ammo. 1,100 rounds total.
