SS# 20XXX Beautiful Winchester Trap grade model 21 Grand American double barrel 12 ga. This gun was my father's (Harold Hatfield) personal gun. He told me he bought it to shoot trap but the gun was so pretty he never used it. I don't know if it was new when he got it but I know he never shot it. In the early 1960's he had master engraver Neil Hartlip up grade the gun to a "Grand American" and I know he never shot it after that, he just kept it in the gun cabinet and only got it out to show when friends came to the house. Along with the gun is a reprint of a 1990 American Rifleman magazine story about Neil Hartlip retiring at age 77 and going to work for the NRA teaching engraving. The gun was made in 1947, was originally a trap grade with beautiful XXX fancy walnut wood carved and checkered in the Winchester "B" style. LOP 14 1/4" drop 1 1/2" at the comb and 2" at the heel. The barrels are 32" with perfect bores and choked Full/Full. My father has been dead for a long time and I am in my 60's so the time has come to sell this family heirloom. This gun is absolutely flawless with the exception of a slight ding near the muzzle (see photos). Although this gun wasn't born a Grand American the work was done by a master craftsman over fifty years ago and I will guarantee the quality of the work and the gun it's self 100%. If the it does not live up to your expectations in any way return it for a full and speedy refund (see my feedback). Sorry no trades on this gun. Satasifaction guaranteed.
