The finish is 99% and it functions perfectly aith a sharp bore.It is in the NM721xx series of Springfields, it comes with a gray parkerized finish and brown plastic grip panels. It has a better trigger pull than the WW II 1911A1s and a smoother feedramp and barrel throat. All of this makes this an execellent basic carry gun or learning piece. I've owend over two hundred 1911s and 1911A1s and carried at least a half dozen of them with serious intent and have used them in the most serious manner.
