We’ve always called these little pistols, Astra Ruby. Manufacturer on this one, however, was Retolaza Brothers of Eibar Spain, as part of Gabilondo’s contract with the beleaguered French Army in the early stages of World War One. The Spanish Manufacturers borrowed conspicuously from John Moses Browning with his 1903 semi-auto, marketed in the US as the Colt model of 1903. Construction is entirely steel, with original walnut grip panels. Type is blowback action semi-automatic pistol. Chambering is 7.65 Browning, same as our .32 ACP. Magazine holds 9 rounds, so 9 + 1 capacity. Weight empty is 30 ounces. Barrel is 3 1/4 inch. This specimen comes to us from a local trader and collector. Surface detractions are extensive, with what may very well be blood pitting on the front area of the slide. Some original bluing remains around the grip edges and on the magazine floorplate. This pistol is not import marked, so it was possibly imported by a U.S. Veteran, but we have no credible history on this particular ruby. We rate this Ruby as only Fair, but completely intact with the exception of its lanyard rings that are missing. Bore exhibits extensive etchiness, and magazine shows some contusions on its upper area. We test fired this pistol with 5 rounds and no hitches. It is a historic little piece, despite its surface detractions. We’re offering it for only $ 169.00. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
