Here is a handgun that will outshoot all comers, even rifles, in semiautomatic. We could not fail to notice the consistent accuracy of the traditional Ruger 5 1/2 inch bull barrel pistols, and when Ruger brought the Government Competition models out in the late 1980s, they took the cake, beating Smith & Wesson Model 41, Weatherby XXII, Sig Hammerlis, and all manner of match grade pistols and rifles. This is the classic, highest form of the Government Competition, the KMKIII678GC, Ruger order number 10112. Action is, of course, semi-automatic with positive lock down safety, keyed internal lock, and a total of two 10 round magazines. Sights are flat black partridge front and micro click rear that is adjustable for windage and elevation. The Ruger is drilled in four positions and is furnished with a Weaver / Picatinny scope mount base that will accept both grooved receiver rings and Weaver type rings. Grips are Ruger Factory Target with thumb rest for right hand shooters. We will happily sub Hogue grips for Southpaws upon request. Barrel length is 6 7/8 inch slabsided heavy barrel with 9 1/2 inch sight radius. Overall length is just under 11 inches, and maximum height is 5 1/2 inches including sights and magazine buttplate. Weight empty is a superbly balanced 45 ounces. All Ruger semi-auto rimfire pistols are disassemble-able, but the reassemble had better read the instruction manual, or he will damage internal parts. Replacement price on this pistol in our area, if a person can even find one, is $600 or more.
