Serial no. is 1258. Caliber is 45 S & W Schofield Cartridge. Manufacture date is 1875 and letter shows it was shipped to the U.S. Government . Barrel length is 7" and overall length is approx. 13". Mostly patina finish with some bluing remaining in recessed locations ( behind cylinder ). Good bore w/ rifling still present. Action function is excellent. Grips are original but have been hand checkered. This is a high collection quality gun. -- Included is a factory letter from S & W providing research and history in regard to this specific gun.
