Description: James L. Clark worked closely with Carl Akeley (the father of modern taxidermy, Roosevelt's 1909 African safari, National Collection). He went on to be inducted in the Campfire Club (eventually becoming President) and was Curator for the American Museum of Natural History. Also an artist, Clark created this bronze for Theodore Roosevelt. Somehow, the mold was obtained by one of the Boone and Crockett Club members. Circa 1990, when the Club was relocating to Missoula, Montana, it was decided that a monument be erected in front of the building. Therefore, a larger-than-lifesize version of this sculpture was created, and to fund it donors contributing $10K plus were presented with this "miniature". That edition was limited to 20, this one being 11/20. Once these were cast, the mold was destroyed. This particular bronze was donated back to the Boone & Crockett Club by the owner's estate. It is 25 inches tall, including the oak base and remains in fine condition with some handling wear apparent on the base. It also rattles a bit when handled, likely from slag that remains inside. Proceeds benefit the Boone and Crockett Club, and a letter detailing the origins of this bronze will be mailed to the purchaser. Price firm. Photo package by request.

A crate is included. Shipping will likely be around $300.
