Description: Here is a very sharp Smith & Wesson model 645 from the series's first full year of production, 1986. Serial number prefix is TBB. 1988 was the final year of production for the 645 after only a brief run that began in 1985. This pistol has only faint holster buffing on its surfaces, principally the center upper left edge of the slide. Replacement, period correct Pachmayr grips exhibit moderate wear on their right panel, and there is a scour in the thumb area on the left panel. Top of the rear sight has whitening on its adges, and contact scratching on its upper right side. Despite the holster buffing that affects about 10 percent of the metal surfaces, the original classic S&W streaked-stainless finish is very much in evidence throughout. We rate this 645 as Very Good, since about 85 percent of its finish is intact by our estimate; photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. This is classic 1980s styling in one of its finest configurations, if a person can live with the Allen screw on the right safety lever. Stainless steel abounds throughout. The only non-original aspect that we can see to this pistol is where a Department Armorer replaced the magazines' steel followers with later, hi-viz orange ones. Original factory specs are as follows. Traditional double action with decocker, lock-down ambidextrous safety; 8 + 1 capacity with two all stainless magazines; complete stainless construction with the exception of the anodized rear sight and red ramp insert for the front sight; .260 serrated satin stainless hammer and .365 satin stainless smooth combat trigger; 5 inch barrel; checkered mainspring housing and foregrip on grip frame. Weight empty is 37.5 ounces. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the single action pull is its original 6 pounds, with minimal creep once the double action slack is overcome. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. It is in one of the original Department issue boxes with Lear Siegler Safety instruction manual. Own this very solid, eminently serviceable 23-year-old Smith & Wesson 645 for only $ 519.95 Not eligible for transfer to civilians in California or Massachusetts.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
