Description: Here is a very solid, very attractive Smith & Wesson .38 Special Military & Police Stainess with 4 inch Heavy Barrel manufactured in the Year 1984 from its AEB serial number prefix. It has only moderate surface wear, and it is thoroughly traditional and mechanically sound. Surface detractions are as follows. There is one dark toned spot on the side plate from strap contact, and a faint amount of scouring on the cylinder surface. Trigger guard surface has three or four tiny pecks on its forward section. Matte area atop barrel and frame is full strength. Satin stainless trigger and hammer have almost full strength original finish. Muzzle area exhibits holster contact buffing, and there is some similar. Areas of the grip frame hidden by the grips have some dark toning from prolonged contact with the original wood service grips. New replacement Pachmayr grips are SK-G model, appropriate for mid to late 1980s. This Model 64 Heavy Barrel is Excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is minimal, a thin shallow etchy crease that traverses about 2/3 of the width of the top strap. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright, clean, and Excellent. Lateral play or wobble effect on the cylinder is minimal with the trigger relaxed and with negligible with the trigger pulled all the way. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a very respectable .008. Double action trigger pull is tight and consistent, and the hammer travels 10 degrees after the cylinder times into place on double action in all six positions. On single action, the hammer travels a full 25 to 30 degrees after the cylinder times, and the single action trigger pull is a very crisp 3 3/4 pounds. This is an eminently serviceable, attractive, and collectable Model 64 Stainless from the Reagan era. Since we do not have its original box, we are including a period appropriate black leather southpaw duty holster. It is the best choice in most defensive situations for homeowners or security personnel. These revolvers are well balanced, simple to operate, and easy to hit a target with, vastly more so that the currently fashionable small handguns on the market. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
