Magazine manufacturer is Smith & Wesson of Springfield, MA, and its subcontractors, specifically Check-Mate Industries of West Babylon, NY. These are factory Smith & Wesson magazines and so marked. Their black cartridge followers distinguish them from post 2004 variants that issued with orange followers. They were manufactured, then, some time between 1990, when the 6900 reached full stride, and prior to September 13, 1994. Construction is one piece folded steel body, with steel spring and inner plate; and with polymer cartridge follower and finger rest outer floor plate. Back is full length tig welded. Each magazine holds 12 rounds of 9mm Caliber ammunition.This magazine will fit Smith & Wesson 6900 series compact pistols chambered in 9mm caliber. That includes models 469, 669, 6904, 6906, 6924, 6926, 6944, and 6946. They are period correct with pistols serialized with single A letter, and with TAA – TZZ serial number prefixes. Finish is milled back seam, polished surface stainless. Surface detractions are minimal to moderate, principally edge wear to the finger rest. These magazines, of course, served Security Duty in the Northeastern United States during their careers. Spring strength is excellent. These magazines have been discontinued now for a decade.
