Here are authentic styled Government Issue Slings for the M-1 Garand or M-1A type rifles, including US Government Issue specimens, Springfield Armory Manufactured rifles, and even Norinco and Fed Ord clones from the 1980s. These slings will fit a Carbine, of course, but are not quite period correct for the little .30 M-1. Maximum extended length to keep the hardware in place would be about 40 inches, minimum of about 22 inches doubled up. Surplus packaging that these came in indicated a late 1970s manufacture date, quite possibly by the Korean Military. These are unissued Olive Drab green cotton construction with authentic parkerized hardware. Width is military spec 1 1/4 inches, so these slings will Not fit standard 1 inch rifle sling swivels. We use a good many of them ourselves from time to time, and we're offering them each for only $ 15.00.
