Frequently shoppers in our store will ask which is the best pistol? We don’t like to answer that question, but if we’re forced to, we usually say Sig. Here is an all stainless Sig 220SP .45 Auto, new variant with rail mount frame. Serial number is G3398xx and we estimate it was manufactured in 2004. The pistol in the photo is the pistol that the buyer will receive. This pistol’s only surface detraction is holster contact buffing on the frame and side. The New Hampshire Patrol Officers turn in their weapon at the end of every shift, so they have been removed and reholstered every day in a security duty holster, hence the buffing effect. We rate the finish as Very Good, 80 to 85 percent; but photos should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. This pistol is excellent mechanically. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 500 rounds, usually 60 rounds per year for qualification for a period of less than 5 years. Bore, chamber, and internal parts are clean, bright and excellent. Replacement Hogue grips are brand new finger-groove variety, similar to the ones the NHSP carried. Manual, factory lock, and brand new extra magazine are included. The magazine in the pistol is 8 round capacity, and the brand new extra mag is 7 round. Weight empty with magazine inserted is just over 37 oz. This pistol has its original factory Night Sights, and they are still strong. Usually the life of night sights is around 12 years, and these have been used for only 1/3 of that span. We rate them at 60 to 70 percent strength.
