This is an Ishevsk 1891/59(91/59) Carbine Cal. 7.62x54R dated 1937. The Md. 91/59 is somewhat of a mystery rifle with a very small number of them believed to be manufactured. They were first observed being carried by East German Border guards along the Berlin War during the Cold War.
This rifle is an outstanding example of a Md. 91/59 rifle. All stamped matching serial numbers: bolt, receiver, butt plate and magazine. Metal blue is 99% with a beautiful colored Russian hardwood stock. Bore is mirror bright with sharp lands. Very small import mark on barrel.
