Here is one of only a short production run of matte finished 5900 series Smith & Wesson 9mms, the Model 915. As the flood of plastic guns welled up in the early 1990s, Smith & Wesson piloted its own Sigma series, but also produced the Model 915 from 1992 through 1994 only. A limited run of 915s was produced in 1999, but this one with its TZZ prefix was one of the final ones from 1994, before the Brady Ban went into effect. It comes to us from a trade with one of our neighboring dealers in North Carolina. Product Code on these was 104792, 4 inch barrel, dovetailed fixed rounded rear sights with dot front sight, single-lever manual safety and decocker, traditional double action, Anodized Aluminum frame with Matte Blue finish to the steel slide. The difference between this and the 5904 is principally the finishing process; the 915’s slide and frame edges are not beveled like the pricier 5900 series was. This specimen has moderate wear, principally weakness to the slide finish from holster contact. We classify it as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate; photos, however, ought to suffice so that our distinguished shoppers can judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are bright, clean, and excellent. Other specs are carbon steel slide, .260 serrated hammer and .304 smooth combat trigger. Weight empty is 27.5 ounces. This pistol comes with an excellent condition Mec-Gar 17 Shot Nickel Plated Magazine. Apart from the fact that this is a real gun in a sea of plastic, we also like its safety system: a main safety that decocks and stays locked down, a firing pin safety, and S&W's distinctive magazine safety. We're offering this excellent 5900 series 9mm Smith & Wesson for only $ 489.00 Not transferable to civilian residents of California, the District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. For civilian buyers in jurisdictions where the 17 round magazines are restricted to Law Enforcement Only, we will sub a 10 or 15 round Mec-Gar or Factory Magazine. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
