The coin finish action is beautifully engraved with a bull African elephant on the bottom (trunk down) and the lockplates have a charging cape buffalo on the left and a large maned lion roaring on the right. These scenes are surrounded by large leaf scroll engraving with dark shading. "M.Thys' is on the bottom of eack lockplate and the engraver, "C. Perfido" has signed on the trigger plate. Dark, reddish colored European walnut with a stump pattern grain makes up the stock and forearm. There is a cheekpiece molded in for a left-hand shooter or the classic stock works perfectly for a right hand shooter. The extra large forearm and pistol grip have generous amounts of point pattern checkering. The aluminum travel case with a heavy, black canvas cover is lined with dark green suede. There are compartments for the stock, both sets of barrels and a scope. The bores are excellent, action is tight, blued and coin finishes are excellent, the oil finish stock shown minor use marks and the case is very serviceable.
