From light duty with Beretta’s Sales Team comes this attractive and distinctive Beretta Gas Operated autoloader. This is the A300 Outlander. Manufacturer is Beretta USA of Accokeek, MD, from U.S. and Italian Parts. Type is gas operated semi automatic shotgun. Construction is matte blue steel barrel with chrome lined bore, and chrome plated steel parts, with flat black anodized alloy receiver and trigger group. Magazine tube and parts are steel. Buttstock and forend are cut plain oil finished Italian walnut, with QD size sling swivels on the forend cap and in the buttstock. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably. Barrel is 28 inch Mobil-Choke®, with .685 Full, .702 Modified, and .715 Improved Cylinder tubes. Other tubes are readily available throughout the country. The Outlander is Not back bored and its full tube is Not intended for use with Steel Shot. Sight system is 9 post .230 smooth top matte Ventilated Rib that sits .240 above the barrel at the gas port lugs. Sight is single brass bead front, threaded into place. Magazine tube proper measures 8 1/2 inches, so 2 + 1 capacity with the magazine tube block in place, or 3 + 1 with the block removed. This shotgun is 300 action, not capable of receiving a magazine tube extension. Trigger housing is polymer, with a .275 smooth faced stainless trigger. Safety is forward mounted reversible. Trigger pull on this specimen gauges at 4 3/4 pounds, with minimal felt creep and overtravel. Buttstock length of pull is 14 3/8 inches from the trigger face to the end of the factory 3/4 inch black rubber recoil pad. Buttstock is standard drop of 1 1/2 inches at the comb and 2 1/2 at the rear, with a 3/4 inch right hand cant. Installed shim, visible in the photos, is a factory C-DX-65; Beretta shims numbers C-DX-50, C-SX-50, and C-SX-65 are available for altering the drop and cant. The Outlander is one of very few right side ejecting shotguns that can become southpaw friendly. Weight empty is 6 pounds 15.2 ounces with center of gravity at the barrel / receiver juncture. This A300 comes to us from Beretta’s distribution system. It is in its original box with instruction manual and factory inspection certificate, dated May 30, 2015, that includes a 60 day warranty. Surface detractions are minimal, only two or three faint streaks on the sides of the muzzle and on the left side of the rib. We rate it as Excellent in Box, 95 percent or better by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We do not believe this shotgun was fired more than 10 times. Shell carrier shows no wear from loading and unloading.
