The 1911 Texas is a distinctive combat handgun that's got just about everything right, including an all steel body, distinctive styling, numerous ergo features, and hand fitted construction using all Sig components. The Sig 1911 “Texas” reflects decades of refinement to Browning's original design while still remaining true to the original pattern. Sig's version features rugged all stainless steel construction (frame and slide), finished in matte black using Sig's durable and "Granite hard" Nitron treatment. Most controls also sport a black matte finish, with the exception of the trigger and hammer, which are left in the white, as is the barrel. Machined to fine tolerances, the slide and frame are hand fitted to ensure accuracy and reliability. Premium internal parts, including a match grade barrel, match grade hammer / sear / trigger set, and the externally mounted extractor complete the factory performance package. A straight, grooved mainspring housing, skeletonized Commander style hammer, 25-line per inch checkering on the front strap, moderate de-horning, extended thumb safety, speed bump on the grip safety, and aggressively textured grips ensure sure and easy handling. The three-dot Siglite® nigh-sight sight assembly is a beveled, Novak-style low mount rear and blade front, ensuring snag free handling. The two (2) single stack 8-rd magazines have stainless bodies, metal followers and padded, removable plastic base plates.
The “Texas Edition” commemorative styling includes a special serial number range (“TX1911xxx”), an outline of the great state of Texas etched onto the top rear of the slide, and custom textured rosewood grips embellished with the “Lone Star”. Made by Sig Sauer in the US, the finish and overall workmanship on this gun are outstanding.
