Colt Mod. XM16E1 US Property marked. This gun was a transitional gun that eventually lead to the M16A1, it was manufactured between 1965-1966 & was shipped to the Army for use in Veitnam. From all of my research & talking to others more knowledgeable than I, this gun is all original.
If your looking for a safe queen then keep on looking. This gun has character & has seen the spoils of war, if it could only talk. Once this gun left the Army it went into the Michigan prison system & eventually got traded in on newer weapons. I was at Reed Knights Museum a year or so ago & saw the brother to this gun hanging on the wall. It was the same exact model, was in the same condition & had the same markings as this gun (ie: rack number stamp & serial number on the upper) This is your chance to own a peice of history.
