Rare Find! This sale is for a Parker GHE Grade 12Guage skeet side by side shotgun. 26 Inch Barrel. Comes in period correct, Abercrombie & Fitch "Leg of Mutton" Leather Carry Case. Please see all the pictures included to confirm the markings/condition/finish.
Stock:
Rear fine walnut stock, excellent grain pattern, Checkered pistol grip wrist, Parker Medallion. Sterling Silver "BU" Inlay. Minor handling marks on stock. overall very good condition.
Forend:
Wide beaver tail style forend, checkered on all 3 sides, case colored inside metal, showing some handling marks on underside.
Metal:
Still showing light case coloring, All matching serial numbers #239741 (1936 Manu. Date). Inside marked with "parker bros pat'd oct 25 1910" on right and "GH 239741 2" on right side. "9741" on underside. Engravings of waterfowl on 3 sides. Trigger guard also engraved.
Barrels:
Excellent condition bore and extractors on both 26" Barrels. still 90-95% blue remains. Dual bead sights. "Parker Bros Makers Meriden CT US Spec. Steel" on top of barrel. The underside of the barrel is marked with "Skeet in" and "Skeet Out" as well as "parker gun work overload proved" on each barrel. "PS (in a circle)" "C F" "3^7" The serial number and "12 1-1/2" are both on the connecting arm as well.
One thing that needs to be mentioned are two cracks on the forend wood stock. Both in the same location, nothing that will deter function of this shotgun but it NEEDS to be mentioned. If you are considering this shotgun you are a SERIOUS collector. We are conceiding on the price because without those cracks this Shotgun would demand a price near $10,000.
