Beretta's subcontractor and neighbor, Stoeger Industries of Accokeek, Maryland, simply had the machinery shipped to Turkey. The original 10-shot ban period magazine included with this Stoeger 8000 is factory Beretta and so marked. This pistol is in Excellent Condition, with minor weakness to its matte blue finish on its sharp edges. We rate it at 90 percent or better finishwise; photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. Featurs are standard Beretta style: disassembly lever, ambidextrous safety / decocker levers, reversible magazine release, and standard 92FS style Commander hammer are all conventional Beretta clone parts. Many of the parts on this specimen may be original Beretta. Construction is anodized alloy grip frame, polymer magazine release and guide rod; and otherwise steel parts and slide. For anyone who questions the abilities and talent of Turkish gunsmiths, this slick made pistol should address that emphatically. Weight empty is 31 1/4 oz, and this pistol comes just as we got it, with one magazine only. The Beretta Cougars are now commanding prices upwards of $700 apiece.
