The gloss blue barrel is marked with "Frederick Beasley (Formerly of St. James Street, London) Amersham" on top, the scimitar proof and "416 Rigby LP/96" on the right side of the chamber and the London "Crown/GP" on the right side of the receiver. The blued floor plate is engraved "Frederick/"African"/Rifle/Beesley". The metal retains 98% of its original blue finish with no major marks. The bore is bright, clean & shiny, the action is tight & crisp and the trigger pull would rate as "none better".
Highest grade, feathercrotch, dark & darker English walnut is used for the left-handed Monte Carlo stock which features a roll-over comb. The pistol grip and the forearm are covered with sharp, clean multipoint checkering. There is a rounded horn forearm tip and a blued steel grip cap with "416 Rigby" inset in gold. The toeline has a recessed initial oval which is inscribed "J*D*M". This is an exceptional piece of wood that has been beautifully shaped. There are minor use marks on the bottom of the forearm.
This gun comes in its own custom, brown leather, red felt lined, case with the with the "Frederick Beasley" label sewn in the lid. The case is 100% serviceable with some expected wear and a few "Alaska Airline" stickers on the outside.
