Description: From its ADN serial number prefix, this Smith & Wesson .357 Distinguished Combat Magnum was manufactured in late fall of 1983, the third year of production for the series. The Nickel 586 only had a ten year production life. This one did not undergo the firing pin bushing replacement in the mid-1980s, because it lacks the characteristic M stamp on the yoke area of the frame. Even though its nickel is full strength throughout, there is a fair amount of cloudiness to the cylinder surface, and mild buffing on the lateral sides of the muzzle and underlug. We estimate that 15 percent of so of its surface is affected, but detect no peeling whatsoever. We detect one superficial scratch near the yoke screw where its Department Armorer removed the plate for annual inspection and internal cleaning and lubrication. Pachmayr Grips are replacement but appropriate SK-G Professionals. Grip frame is serrated fore and aft. Sights are White Outline Rear and Red Ramp front, and we detect nothing more than original factory stress to the rear sight screws. This Nickel 586 is Excellent Mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel’s forcing cone is minimal, and only amounts to light etching across that surface with no actual cutting. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .006. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, and the hammer travels 12 to 15 degrees after the cylinder times in all six positions. On single action, the hammer travels a full 25 to 30 degrees after the cylinder times into place, and the single action trigger pull is a very crisp 3 3/8 pounds. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright, clean, and excellent. Carbon residue to the cylinder face is minimal, as the photos show. Despite its detractions, this revolver still has a very attractive and durable finish. Cylinder rotation marking is minimal, and we do not believe this 586 has been fired more than 200 times. Note the full strength original case coloring on its hammer and trigger. We’re offering this very nice 586 Nickel, no suffix, for only $ 519.95

S&W, Colt Stainless Very Good. We even like RG, H&R, Taurus, Rossi Revolvers. Gold, Silver good, esp. Morgan Dollars and Walking Liberty Half Dollars. We like .243 and .30-30 very much. One of the biggest expenses for us is cleaning guns; fewer than 1% of the firearms we trade for are clean.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
