Gen SAA Colt, 45LC, 7.5 inch Barrel. Serial # 44xxx. This 1st Gen Colt SAA had the barrel and cylinder replaced in 1962 so smokless powder could be fired. Other parts appear to be re-blued at that time. All other serial numbers match. The frame is a black powder frame. The walnut grips were also new in 1962. The gun is remarkably clean with just a few pits on the frame. The mechanics are in excellent condition. The ejector rod housing shows evidence of holster use. The Barrel reads on top: "COLT'S PTFA MFG Co. HARTFORD CT USA" and on the side: COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45. Included is an image of the 1962 work order for new barrel and cylinder.
