I'm not 100% sure what this rifle is. It's not in the blue book and it does not have many visible markings. What I believe is that it is is a rare historic Remington model 1902 rolling block saddle ring carbine 20" barrel in 7MM (***IMPORTANT !! ---- I believe it's 7mm but have no way to check) Not in great shape cosmetically, I would even call it rough with no bluing left, but since these were apparently built from steel instead of hardened iron they seem to hold up well. Sights are missing, but firing pin is in tact and functioning. Apparently Remington exported these to foreign countries (Central and South America mostly) for military use and did not sell them in the US in 7MM. The excellent ones sell for almost $2000, this one is only $550 "obo" for a great wall hanger or project gun.
The tang is marked in 3 lines:
REMINGTON ARMS CO.
ILION N.Y. U.S.A.
PATENTED OCTR 22nd 1902
The only other making visible is "RP" on the barrel, and "636" on the top of the receiver. No s/n, no caliber marking visible on barrel.
I will ship it via FedEx insured to your FFL.
