HG5679 Here is Kimber’s best looking pistol, its bright blue finished Custom Royal with matte verticals and dark walnut diamond style grips. Unlike presently manufactured specimens, this Kimber has its date of manufacture inside the box handles, 09-1997. It has its original instruction manual in the box. All Kimbers have Custom Shop grade features, of course, and this exceptional specimen is no exception. Slide has polished blue side flats with serrations fore and aft; and glare-preventing matte blue upper slide that matches the lower slide and frame’s vertical surfaces. Sights are dovetailed medium partridge front with matching modified Novak Style black serrated face rear combat sight. Hammer is commander style skeleton serrated. Grip safety is matte blue beavertail, with flatter C style checkered matte steel mainspring housing. Main safety is serrated extended with bright blue surface. Frame sides are polished blue as well. Trigger is Kimber Custom skeleton serrated face with overtravel adjustment. This Kimber’s surface detractions are minimal. It has one slide stop streak on the left side of the frame that is very faint, also known as an idiot mark. Lower center of frame has a faint whitened holster line. There is faint whitening on the rear edges of the grip frame and bottom edges of the grip safety. Barrel surfaces have moderate frame and bushing contact. High Gloss factory diamond pattern grip panels exhibit moderate scouring. We rate this Custom Royal as Excellent in Box, since no more than 10 percent of its surfaces are affected by use indications in our estimation. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice so that our distinguished shoppers can judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. From our knowledge of its Floridian retired military owner, it has been fired fewer than 400 rounds. Specs other than ones we have mentioned are simply Government Size .45 ACP, 5 inch barrel and weight empty in the 39 ounce vicinity, steel frame. As with most all Kimbers, this one has a stainless one-piece guide rod and match grade barrel. Magazines are both blue steel 8 round, one is the original Kimber and the other is a Chip McCormick. Replacement pricing on the descendant Custom Royal II is $1,000 or more in our area if a person can even find one. We’re offering this one, however, for only $ 789.95.
