Action built by Carolina Precision Rifles. The action, i.e. receiver threads trued, barrel to receiver faces milled and trued, bolt lugs lapped to 90% plus contact area, oversize recoil lug, Jewell bench rest 2 oz. trigger installed, all done by Carolina Precision Rifles. The stock is a Ruger Varmint laminated stock with a wide forearm that was fitted to the action and pillar bedded by the best gunsmith in the state. First off an improved cartridge is one with non-standard dimensions that is formed by firing a standard factory cartridge in the chamber of the rifle. The case is then “blown out” to fit the improved chamber. The new cases can then be reloaded using dies cut for the improved chambering. The advantage of improved chamberings is increased case capacity and corresponding increased velocity. Another advantage is that if you lose your ammo on a trip you can use factory ammo and continue your hunt. You can shoot either the 6mm Remington Ackley Improved cartridge or if you don’t reload you can still shoot off the shelf factory 6mm Remington ammunition.This is an extremely accurate long range rifle. Since this is a single shot action you do not have to worry about bullet AOL restricted by a magazine so you can seat the rounds out to touching the rifling. You can load 55 gr bullets to 107 gr bullets making this a very versital round for varmint hunting to deer.
