Never fired. Purchased new Remington 700 for donor action. Pac-Nor 22 inch barrel, 9.5 twist, sporter weight. Barrel installed by Pac-Nor. Replaced factory stock with new Bell and Carlson Medalist (Classic Checkered) fiberglass stock with aluminum bedding block, green w black web, 1" Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad, raised cheek rest. Replaced factory trigger with Timney trigger tuned to approximately 2.75 lbs. Glass bedded action, free-floated barrel. Sur-Tac Gear cerakoted action, barrel, and bottom metal graphite black. Wyatt's Outdoor installed its extended-length box magazine to allow longer seating if desired (for instance, Berger vld bullets). Cost of this build was over $1800.
I recently came into possession of another 7mm-08, and don't need two. I'm willing to take hair cut on this one because I'm interested in other purchases but do not want to use new money. I believe this will be a tack driver, and am tempted to shoot it, but figure it will fetch more new so I left it alone.
This rifle has great balance. The stock has a nice palmswell. The Timney trigger is the best I have yet owned -- feels more like a Jewell trigger. This brand new rifle closely resembles what you would get with a Nosler Custom Rifle priced at $1800 - $2,000 (NC uses Pac-Nor barrels also), or Hill Country Rifles Harvester, but at less than half the cost. I will also include a never-used set of Talley lightweight aluminum bases/rings (low) in matte black.
