SA0365 Since we foolishly discarded some of them 40 years ago; and especially since Smith & Wesson stopped shipping in their rather expensive factory presentation cases, these items have appreciated substantially. Here is one that we inadvertently rescued from an Infidel, who wrote the words Blackhawk 44 Mag on one end of the box, as the photos show; and who is the probably culprit for replacing its interior lining. The handwritten ink will sand off easily enough. Outer Box dimensions are 7 7/8 inch wide by 2 15/16 high by 14 inches long. Its interior is period 1970s replacement blue foam, and a pretty good job of it for a Ruger man. Its only factory markings are handwritten digits, D121, inside both lid and bottom underneath the liner. Size is correct for 6 inch or 6 1/2 inch N Frame, probably a model 29. The 3 1/2 inch 27-1 is not included in the price, of course. Construction is interlocking edge American Walnut with a blondish tint, as the photos show. Apart from the blue ink inscription, surface detractions are moderate, one streak and a couple of light scours on the top; edge scuffing at places, and dark toning to the brass hinges. We classify this S&W Presentation Case as Very Good Condition, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
