Up for auction is 1962 Smith & Wesson Model 36, Chief's Special in .38 Special CTG with a 2" barrel, no dash. The serial number is 242xxx which puts it's manufacturing around April 1962. This revolver appears to have been refinished by the previous owner in its lifetime. The rebluing which is a matted finish is a very conservative 95%. The bore is shinny with clearly defined rifling. The pistol locks up tight and all parts mechanically function perfectly. There is no pitting and rust anywhere.Overall this revolver is in very good condition. The walnut grips with the S&W emblem are in very good condition as well.
