PARKER VH 16ga. ENGLISH STOCK ORIGINAL UNALTERED CONDITION
1922 manufactured number 1 frame 16ga. with factory original English grip, splinter forend, extractors. Gun is found in the Parker Gun Identification and Serialization book and is as shipped. Unusual in today’s market of fine Parker shotguns, this gun has not been molested or altered in any way. All wood and metal is factory original condition, all parts with matching numbers.
The barrels are 28” Vulcan Steel with excellent bores, 95% original blue, 2 9/16” original chambers, choked M/F (.023/.027), extractors, no dents, a few handling marks and areas that are worn from handling, ribs are tight and the barrels ring true, fit tight on face of receiver with the forearm removed.
The receiver is a #1 frame size, retaining 60% original case color, all screws excellent, double triggers with excellent, crisp pulls, trigger guard retains remnants of original blue, engraving crisp and sharp, no rust or pitting.
Wood is original finish as far as I can see, with most all of the finish remaining, checkering is sharp and original, no chips, splits, cracks or repairs, forearm excellent, wood to metal fit is superb, length of pull to original dog’s head butt plate is 14”, drop at heel 2 9/16”, drop at comb 1 5/8” for nice shootable dimensions.
This is an opportunity to own a very hard to find straight gripped, unmolested Parker with lots of original condition. At 6 ½ lbs. and the English stock it is a superb handling upland gun with no excuses. Most of the Parkers I see today have been tampered with, and you don’t see this configuration and condition often. Still time for your bird season and sporting clays shooting!
