This is a never fired, 100% authentic and original, Winchester M1 Presentation Garand from WWii. Winchester Chromed this rifle, it is not Nickel. This Garand was made in 1945 towards the end of the war. It is New Old Stock, never fired. This Garand is "Not" a Parade or Drill rifle. This was made by Winchester in order to be presented to dignitaries after the war ended. Approximately 28 to 32 were made. These rifles "Did Not" come with serial numbers or WINCHESTER rolled into the receiver. No serial number or name helps to authenticate these rare Winchesters. Winchester did not want to be accused of charging the Gov't for Garands that they were going to give away as gifts; hence no serial numbers. One of these rifles was to be presented to General Patton. General Patton died before he received the Garand. General Pattons' Chrome Garand is in the Cody Firearms Museum. The rifle was made with a beautiful deluxe stock. This is 100% Winchester factory original and correct from 1945. The top hand guard has a small crack which is not visible in the pictures. While this is New Old Stock and all original it has typical handling marks etc. I am "not" a Winchester or Garand expert, but will try to answer any questions.
