Here is the resurrected and slightly reconfigured latest production of Smith & Wesson's .41 Magnum Target, numbered Model 57, introduced in 1964. Actually, this one is more nearly kin to the adjustable sight 1950 Models Target Light Barrels, offered only in .45 Colt or .44 Special at the time. It is marked Mountain Gun on the right side of the barrel, but the configuration is 60 some odd years old. This variant was the first catalogued 57 since the Model's lamentable discontinuance in 1993. This #161300 is a limited production continuance of the 57-5 introduced in 2005. We all grew up with profound respect for the .41 Magnum, well deserved respect, and this 57-5 shares in that. Sights are traditional black adjustable rear with Black Ramp pinned-on front sight, shrouded-pin 4 inch traditional tapered barrel, traditional .365 Case Colored MIM Smooth faced Combat Trigger, .400 Cleated Case Colored Hammer without the hammer nose, that pushes a floating firing pin; Ahrends style Finger Groove Combat Grips on a Round Butt N Grip Frame.
