Parker GHE 12ga. – EXCELLENT GUN PRICED RIGHT
Shipped from the factory in 1930, sn234722 still retains nearly 50% factory case color, has perfect wood to metal fit, and great screws. The GHE 12ga. with Parker Special Steel barrels is actually a very low production gun, with only 2501 made.
The 30” Parker Special Steel barrels have great bores, retain 99% of a fine rust blue,
Choked IM/F (.030/.036, can be altered to your specs for $55 per barrel), internal bore diameter of .734/.731, barrel wall thickness of .022/.030, no pits or scratches, no dents, 2 ¾” chambers, ribs are tight and barrels ring true, ejectors, barrels are tight on breech face and hinge, clear sharp lettering, just a great set of barrels.
The receiver retains about 50% factory case colors, excellent screws, action tight at breech with lever centered, engraving clean and clear, double triggers break clean, trigger guard has 99% niter blue, mechanically excellent throughout.
The wood is wonderfully figured far beyond the typical GH Grade Parker, with excellent checkering, no cracks or repairs, superb wood to metal fit, 14 3/16” LOP to the Dog’s Head butt plate, 2 11/16” drop at heel, 1 5/8” drop at comb for really great shooting dimensions (stock dimensions can be altered to your specs by bending for around $150), checkering excellent on both butt and forearm. The wood makes this an outstandingly gorgeous Parker.
This 12 gauge Parker is on a 1 ½ frame and weighs in at a reasonably light weight of 7lbs. 6oz. and balances right on the hinge pin for wonderful handling characteristics. With the 30” barrels it is an excellent candidate for a fine Sporting Clays gun for those vintage shoots you’ve been wanting to enjoy, or for any of the upland game you choose to pursue. With the present chokes it would be devastating on turkey or waterfowl. Keep in mind that any alterations you may choose will be done by my gunsmith with little wait time. Chokes and stock alterations are done at wholesale prices and within 10 days of your purchase. This is a fine, investment quality Parker with no “bugars” or excuses, so you really are not spending money when you make the purchase, but rather investing wisely!
