Here is the latest descendant of the Ingram Mac-10 machine pistol. The Ingram, the parent pistol, was invented in 1964 and variants of it saw service on a limited basis in Viet Nam and in domestic law enforcement applications in the United States. S.W. Daniel Company in Marietta Georgia began production of a semi-auto version in the late 1970s, but BATF stopped production in 1982 because the pistols fired from an open bolt and were too easy to convert. This is the M-10 type, closed bolt, fresh 2009 manufacture. Magazine is all-steel 30 round. This fine pistol is manufactured by Masterpiece Arms in Carrollton, Georgia, and its present model designation is MPA10T-A. This is the classic Top Cocker, the most similar man standing to the old Ingrams. Barrel is 5 1/2 inch threaded. This pistol weighs a hefty 5 1/2 pounds on our postal scale. Overall length is 11 inches, and height is 11 inches with magazine inserted. Construction is all steel with polymer backstrap / magazine release housing.
