From one of our brightest young collectors comes this specimen of a relatively rare Heckler & Koch Pistol. Model is VP70Z. From its IA barrel code, it was manufactured in 1980. Manufacturer was Heckler & Koch of Oberndorf, Federal Republic of Germany. Importer was HK Inc, Arlington, VA. Construction is steel barrel, slide assembly, steel magazine, alloy .330 smooth rounded face trigger, and one piece steel reinforced polymer frame. The HK VP70, not the Glock, was the original pioneer polymer frame pistol, following Remington’s Nylon 66 Rifle from 1959. The original VP70M was a machine pistol whose selective fire mechanism resided in a shoulder stock assembly, neither of which are allowed on civilian market in the US since 1986. The German VP abbreviation signifies Fully Automatic Pistol, with a 2200 rpm cyclic rate. This VP70Z is the civilian version. Its principal marketing drawback is its 18 some odd pound, full time double action trigger pull. Several of these hit our local Tennessee – Mississippi market during their run that ceased in 1989. They were under $300 apiece wholesale, while the other HKs were all upwards of $500 apiece. Classification is full time double action, striker fired semi-automatic pistol. Barrel is 4 1/2 inch 6 groove conventionally rifled barrel, not a polygonal bore. Length is 8 1/8 inches from the muzzle to the back of the slide, 5 1/2 inches height from the top of the rear sight to the bottom of the magazine floorplate; and 1.230 frame thickness. Weight empty is 28.9 ounces, very light for its day. Caliber is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm; and magazine holds 18 rounds, 18+1 total capacity. Surface detractions are minimal on this pistol, only faint edge whitening on the metal and scouring on the frame edges. We rate it as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, 85 to 90 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. This is a civilian owned pistol, and we estimate it has been fired fewer than 400 times. We’re offering this distinctive, clean HK VP70Z 9mm for only $ 689.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, the District of Colombia, or Massachusetts. For civilian buyers in jurisdictions where 18 shot magazines are restricted, $25 off with no magazine. Includes Aurora Il, Chicago Cook Co IL, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, [Maryland after 9/15/13] New Jersey, New York, and South Bend IN.

Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
