The only home this genuine Japan Made Nikon scope ever had, the only rifle it was ever mounted on, was a Savage Model 110, F Series, manufactured in the early 1990s, part of which shows in some of our photos. From our poor memory, and from this Nikon’s 424000 range serial number, we estimate it was manufactured in 1993 or 1994. Please note that we obliterated part of the serial number in the photos, because there are a few dishonest lost souls in the shopping public, very few from our experience. Since the Savage was a .223 Remington caliber rifle, this scope has Not been subjected to any significant recoil. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint ring markings on the front section of the tube. We rate it as excellent, 95 percent vicinity finishwise by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is Excellent mechanically. Lens coatings are fully intact, no scouring whatsoever; and this scope’s exclusive owner was a decorated Army Sniper who knows better than to wipe a lens with your shirt tail. Manufacturer, of course, is Nikon Corporation of Tokyo Japan; type is variable power rifle scope with adjustments from 3.5 to 10 power magnification; eyepiece is 32mm with 4 1/2 inches of eye relief on 3.5x by our measurement; objective lens measures 50mm diameter; tube is standard 1 inch diameter, one piece construction with 5 1/4 inches of tube proper and 13 1/2 inches overall length; crosshair is NikoPlex, Dual X or Duplex type; weight is 15 3/8 ounces; field of view is approximately 40 feet on 3.5x, 10 feet on 10x at 100 meters. Replacement pricing on the nearest thing available, the 8416 Monarch, is upwards of $500 in our area. The problem is that the new Monarchs, we are told, are Filipino made. This 3.5x10x50 has never been in the Philippines; it is thoroughly Japanese. We’re offering it for only $ 389.00.
