Description: General Specs: Colt, Year 1983, 9mm, 36.9oz Serial Number: 80BS28889

The Colt Commander was a candidate in a US Government Post-World War II trial to find a lighter replacement for the John M. Browning designed M1911 pistol that would be issued to officers. Colt entered a modified version of their M1911 pistol that was chambered for 9mm Parabellum, had an aluminum alloy frame, a short 4.25-inch barrel, and a 9-round magazine. It became the first mass-produced pistol of this kind and variants included .45acp and 38 Super chambers as well as models in satin nickel and steel. Here we have a like new Colt Combat Commander from 1983 with perfect frame, slide and walnut checkered grips. It comes with one original Colt and one new Wilson Combat 9 round magazine. What a great find!
