From a West Coast collection comes these 15 round Ram-Line brand magazines for any Browning Hi-Power Single Action Pistol chambered in 9mm; or a Hi-Power clone like the FEG Hungarian HP9 Pistols. They will not work in an FEG R9 Double Action; will not work in a Browning BDM Pistol; will not work in a Hi-Power chambered in .40 S&W; will not work on the dump lever of a 1947 John Deere Manure spreader. They will only work in Browning Hi-Powers and exact clones chambered in 9mm caliber. Manufacturer was Ram-Line of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Ram-line geared up and made several thousand of these type magazines in the early 1990s, while we were experiencing a spike similar to the one that began in December of 2012. Construction is blue steel serrated body, with black polymer cartridge follower and floorplate. The spring, interestingly, is a flat rolled coil that anchors with a rivet near the right side of the body’s mouth and anchors to a steel plate that supports the cartridge follower. The springs, then, are highly unconventional, unlike any other magazine we’ve ever seen. From our poor memory of selling several of these 20 some odd years ago, they worked fine so long as a person did not leave the magazines loaded for any length of time. Tactical protocol will be to wait until one sees the attackers’ faces to load. Capacity is 15 rounds of 9mm caliber ammunition. These magazines were manufactured in 1990, and have never been loaded or had a round fired through them. They are still in their factory packages.
