AP Video: LGBTQ Group Takes Up Arms With Rise of Far Right

From the Associated Press, “The Trigger Warning Queer & Trans Gun Club meets once a month to shoot long guns in a field near Rochester, New York. Anxious about an armed and organized extreme right, they started a club to teach members how to take up arms.”

“It’s a way to assert our strength,” told Jake Allen, 27, who helped form the group, The Star.com.

“Often, queer people are thought of as being weak, as being defenceless, and I think in many ways this pushes back against that,” Allen continued. “And I want white supremacists and neo-Nazis to know that queer people are taking steps necessary to protect themselves.”

I’m all for more responsible people exercising their right to keep and bear arms.  Right or left, gay or straight, black or white — it doesn’t matter to me.  I encourage every law-abiding citizen to purchase firearms (on GunsAmerica, preferably).

The reason is twofold. First, if we don’t use it, we lose it.  Millions of Americans already own guns.  Millions more taking the plunge and learning the value of the 2A will only mean it’ll be that much harder for anti-gunners to disarm America.

Second, spreading firearms literacy has the potential to reduce gun-related violence, specifically accidental shootings and suicides. When it comes to the safe use and storage of firearms, ignorance can get one killed.  Why anyone would stand in the way of teaching the masses the basics of responsible gun ownership is beyond me.  Knowlege is power, as they say.

Oh, and of course, there is the other little bonus about an armed society — it’s a safer one.  Concealed carriers in the public square save lives every day in this country.  You won’t see on the mainstream news, but it does happen all the time.

All that to say, kudos to the Trigger Warning Queer & Trans Gun Club.  Teaching others to take responsibility for their safety is a great achievement.  But they shouldn’t be surprised if it leads to members abandoning the Democratic party and its anti-2A agenda.

See, as a lawful gun owner, it becomes impossible not confront the DNC’s big lie: that you are more safe when you are less free to defend yourself.  Sooner or later one awakens to the fact that gun control is antithetical to personal safety. At which point, Feinstein, Schumer, and Pelosi are seen as the foes to freedom they really are.

If they at least know how to use and acquire weapons then they won’t be susceptible to the antigun fake news and “stats” that runs through the media.

  • Patrick McWilliams October 30, 2017, 4:29 pm

There are two ends of the political spectrum: freedom and tyranny. Left and right are arbitrary designations. There are two religions: those who seek God’s help, and those who believe God needs their help. Everything else is just denomination.

  • ejharb October 28, 2017, 7:04 pm

As long as they don’t try to antifa me or my loved ones they have nothing to fear from me.
But they best get ready for the good Muslims their libral pals are bringing in! Those tie gays up and toss them off roofs.

  • Big John October 28, 2017, 5:43 pm

The men look like women, the women look like men and some of them are literally a coin toss. The “right wing” of this country owns hundreds of millions of firearms and millions of rounds of ammunition. If we were angry about your lifestyle, you would know about it.

  • Vic vapor October 28, 2017, 8:28 am

if they want to rally be aware,
the opposition to them is from other radicalized facets of the communist left.
The finger pointing at the right is diversion tactic 101.
    Be safe out there.

These people have no moral ethics. Not natural behavior for people. Breakdown in family values. Vic excuse me for commenting on your post ,but I had to get my views in.

      • Archangel October 29, 2017, 8:59 pm

These people have no moral ethics?
Like the heterosexual father who molests his daughter?
Moral Ethics are lacking in “Normal” people as well!
I have known some of “those type of people” and found them to be of sound moral character in every way that matters, so I don’t care who they love and what those consenting adults do behind closed doors.

  • Glenn61 October 28, 2017, 7:21 am

Interesting to note here that these LGBT-Q and radical Black people so hate the American Right and Donald Trump,,, but the Right side of politics and the NRA are the only reason that they can even own a firearm.
The Leftist-Socialist-Progressives (Communist in disguise) that they support would gladly pass laws forcing them to turn in their guns to the government.
And once in power would not care a wit about the fagots and dikes. Just ask any homosexual person from Russia how the authoritarian Left Wing State treats them.
Because no matter how much the “Gay” community tries to normalize it’s self and force acceptance of their un-natural lifestyle, there will always be a hatred and disgust for them, both on the left and the right.
And when the Left consolidates their power into an autocratic leadership and the queers are no longer politically useful, thing will return back to a natural state where healthy, heterosexual people will shun and attack gays for their violation of natural law. It is written into law by Moses :
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.-Leviticus 18:22

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.-Leviticus 20:13

Save your breath Glenn. They don’t want to hear the truth. They want people to approve of their way of thinking and if you don’t your a racist (how is being against homosexuality, which is a choice, racist anyway?) you can’t have a reasonable discussion anymore with people. I find it so ironic that these leftist, whose party is the literal embodiment of anti gun movements, now want to defend themselves? I thought their buddies on capital hill would do that for them? Makes me sick the freaking hypocrisy. I’m a Christian and against homosexuality. That doesn’t mean I’m a boogie man who wants to kill them all or try some nazi tactics on them. But you can’t defend yourself or even open your mouth without endangering your loved ones anymore. I don’t know how to address these things anymore. It’s gotten to a point where your better off just sticking with those who believe in what you believe in. On the other hand, I believe the real way to address these things is NOT to fight but have discussions about them. I just hope another civil war doesn’t ever happen again.

I,for one,am sick of reading and hearing about these Freaks! Any male that is attracted to another male is F—ing Sick in the head! I was driving home one day,not long ago,and saw a bunch of rainbow colored balloons tied to a mailbox in front of this house. There was also a sign beside that said Gender Party. I stopped at the last store on the way home to get fuel. I asked the cashier if she knew what a gender party was? She asked if I meant the sign down the road? Then she said that the person,Freak, that lived there was coming out! Had decided that he was a female. Enough is enough of this BULLSHIT!

  • Freddy.. October 28, 2017, 5:12 am

This is an article that I really am not anxious to read.. that is one about armed militant queers..I’m sorry but I can’t be happy about that..I do believe that everyone has the right to legally bear arms and defend themselves , but I don’t feel comfortable knowing that people who can’t get their sexual priorities straight are arming themselves…Sorry, don’t trust the judgement here..I guess as long as they stay in their yard, I’ll stay in mine..And no long range sniping..

    • Gary October 30, 2017, 6:18 am

I agree. The problem is I and I’m sure many of you don’t want a fight. We have firearms in case things go south but pray that they never do. This is antagonistic if you ask me. The fact they feel the need to have a club to train to fight anti right groups just shows you that they want a fight. This ain’t for sports, entertainments, hunting, or even self defense which they claim. They are so against everything else the right stands for….except for guns now cuz they know if a fight DID happen they would be outmatched. As far as I’m concerned they are making exceptions and exceptions show there is something wrong with their beliefs and if that’s the case they need to take a hard look at all they believe. Hypocrites.

  • Clint October 27, 2017, 9:11 pm

The anger of this group is what makes them suspect. As another fellow said, if they were just who they are, wanting to exercise their 2A rights, and learn about firearms, perhaps get a concealed carry permit, fine, but being belligerent about it, just ticks off folks who are not into their alternative lifestyle. They would have more success, if in their firearm related interest, they bonded with others who share the same interest, and they would find they would be accepted because of that, unless of course, they are also pushing for blanket approval of their lifestyle with the attitude depicted in the cartoon.

  • JustMe October 27, 2017, 9:01 pm

It’s great they want to arm up for self defense, but their perception of who their enemy is, may be a bit skewed. I’m a straight, middle-aged, retired military, white male. I would not hesitate to shoot with these people and share my love of guns and all human life. If I could teach or share gun safety and shooting tips, I would do that as well. Getting close enough to them for them to trust me would be way harder than me allowing them into my camp. The door is open. Bring your guns and ammo and let’s have a fun, safe, and productive day at the range. Welcome to the 2A awareness club.

  • Jeff Ebert October 27, 2017, 5:33 pm

I think the LGBTQ community should be more concerned about the fascist left.
There seems to be a lot of confusion about who dislikes and would do them harm.
Every person I know on the right believes in live and let live.
I’m sure there are folks on both sides that don’t live by that though.
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, and the right to protect them, is the reason we have the second amendment.

    • Nick October 27, 2017, 9:46 pm

They should be concerned with any government that is just. And conveniently for those fags, most are not. Sodomy is immoral and should be illegal. America is wrong to decriminalize adultery and sodomy. Look at our society decay now. I was reading about how somebody thought Miley Cyrus should stop complaining about the attention. That is what I mean. What a complete degenerate that gutter whore is, because America lost its moral compass.

    • Hal Aluya October 28, 2017, 9:28 am

Gays should be much more concerned about the quickly spreading Muslim extremism. If Sharia law takes hold, they will be throwing them off roofs.

  • tylerkent October 27, 2017, 3:37 pm

What\’s especially funny is that the so-called \”alt right\” is full of homosexuals, e.g, Milo Yiannopoulos and Jack Donovan.

  • Mike H. October 27, 2017, 3:10 pm

I am not sure as to how I feel and think about all of this. Good to have more human beings learning how to shoot and being familiar with Gun ownership. The gay men I know of in this neck of the woods would probably cry if they even saw a gun! I heard one say that he just couldn’t understand how anyone could kill a poor little deer! He thinks that meat is produced at the grocery store. Guess I’ve said enough.

  • Steve October 27, 2017, 2:21 pm

lol. that picture/quote made me laugh.
“not gay as in happy, queer as in fuck you.”
    ha.

  • Carl Tests October 27, 2017, 1:54 pm

We need more law abiding citizens exercising their constitutional rights and getting into gun sports and defense. More power to ’em. We need more of most perceived non-gun groups in the gun sports and defense, especially women, who don’t need to be anything but what they are to learn the enjoyment of the sports and the self-confidence to stand up for themselves instead of playing the victim like some prominent liberal Presidential wannabes.

    • Mike H. October 27, 2017, 4:01 pm

      A-men to that!

    • Aaron October 27, 2017, 6:46 pm

I agree, with some hesitation. The confidence and security learned from shooting and other forms of self-sufficient behavior are things I wish everyone American had – including the left. Plus, it’s obvious how empowering this was for them and how much fun they had doing it. So, perhaps they will even realize many of their pre-conceived notions about the right are mistaken. My only hesitation, in this instance, is that the left IS actually the violent side of the political spectrum. So-called “right wingers” have owned armories for decades with rarely any incident of violence. Yet the left considers the burning of a couple of gay pride flags and a peaceful march by a small number of white nationalists as deserving of a violent response? Until they begin to tone down their rhetoric, stop the violent protests, and stop attacking those who disagree with them, I worry this has the potential to get very ugly.

  • D Day Dog October 27, 2017, 1:43 pm

It’s a shame that the article was about a gay community feeling like they needed to arm themselves against another group and not simply about how the gay community has a general interest in firearms. I know plenty of gay people who just like to shoot as a hobby or go hunting for that matter. They aren’t the stereotypic flying flakes who cringe at the sight of a firearm as some people would believe – that’s FAR from the truth. I’ll bet the majority of the gay community in the USA who have firearms have them simply for the same reason/s I do and not some mounting belief that the extreme right – or some other anti-gay group is going to start hunting them down to kill them in a civil war – although the massacre at that gay bar in Florida was a gay targeted incident (by a radical Islamic asshole – not a neo Nazi). Otherwise, other than that incident, a large scale movement to go after the gay community as a whole is rubbish. In my opinion, the article should at least mention that is some context. If anything, gays should be more worried about Radical Islam than white supremacist or neo-Nazis.

On another note, practically all the gay I know don’t give a rats ass about what we think of them and have respect for our beliefs. I don’t know any gay people who outwardly push their acceptance on straight people or believe their life style should override my religious or other personal beliefs. Obviously, there are radicals and agenda-pushers in EVERY group of EVERY kind. Personally, I believe if they can have a gay pride parade where some of them walk about in S&M outfits, then I should be able to have a parade with a theme about being white isn’t a bad thing. It’s no secret from my gay friends that, as a Christian, it’s my accepted belief that their life style is a sin. But it’s not up to me to judge them in that capacity – that’s God’s job. Their decision over who they sleep with doesn’t cause me pain, threaten my family or diminish my income. As such, I could give a flip about who they choose to be with and will gladly welcome them into my 2A community. Although some people might believe differently, God’s teachings don’t have to come with the 2A.

  • Mike Watkins October 27, 2017, 1:26 pm

Agree with the author that overall the GLBTWHATEVER crowd is as entitled to the exercise of their Second Amendment Rights as the rest of us. Also, that’s probably going to result in more support from the general population for 2A.

The idea of taking personal responsibility for ones own safety is radical to some of those folks.
And who knows? Might even help them think straighter in other ways. (Yeah, I’m shameless. 😄 )

  • John October 27, 2017, 11:52 am

I have always said that if the National Organization for Women were really concerned about women’s safety, N.O.W. should make sure all women become NRA members, then N.O.W. should pay for their firearms training as well.

  • JP Murphy October 27, 2017, 11:52 am

After viewing the AP video associated with this post I have a little advice for the The Trigger Warning Queer & Trans Gun Club: Please train these new gun users proper gun handling. Don’t just show them how to load a shotgun and pull the trigger! Even if they manage to hit a target they are not considered experienced gun handlers.

Without proper instruction you are likely doing these folks and their circle of friends a great amount of harm. What I am referring to is, that I saw in the video, a person fires an aerial shot downrange and in the same range of motion, racks in another round as the muzzle of the shotgun sweeps the ground and toward bystander’s feet. (I believe I saw that type of behavior in the video more that once… but admittedly I was not there in person.) Keep weapons pointed up, and downrange, without a finger on the trigger is RULE #1.

Hopefully, training will also extend beyond long guns, to all guns. 12 gauge long shotguns are not a first choice for self defense. Big and bad guns are deadly to friends and family in the next room, next apartment, or next door.

  • Adam Jeppson October 27, 2017, 11:42 am

I don’t care who you LOVE just don’t try and push it on me or others!!! What people do in the confines of their own home is their business and they can have it….

  • Bob Goodman October 27, 2017, 11:23 am

While it is great to see new groups getting involved in exercising their 2A right, they need a political science lesson. Far-right and extreme right are anarchist, rights of the individual before the good of the group, not white supremacy or neo-Nazi. White supremacy or neo-nazi are more politically allied with the far left where they believe in sacrificing the rights of the individual for the good of the group.

    • nuthinmuffin October 27, 2017, 12:31 pm

unfortunately, lg groups tend to see the president as a white supremacist, so that would include any white person that voted for him in that group. imagine any group arming themselves saying they feared gay people…always flip a situation to examine it thoroughly

  • Norm Fishler October 27, 2017, 11:12 am

It should be carefully noted that here in America these sexual deviants still have the right to arm themselves. Whine, cry, complain & snivel all they want, America remains one of the few places on God’s green earth where this is possible.

  • G. Giant October 27, 2017, 11:03 am

There is a difference. A big difference in the declared purpose of those who take up arms.
The “right” do so to protect and defend the innocent and their families.
The homosexuals seem to be declaring that they are taking arms to fight against the RIGHT. There is no indication that the RIGHT is about to attack them and try to kill them. No activity like the legal attack from LGBT on Christian businesses.
    Nothing.
So who are the REAL haters? Who are the aggressors?
Oh, and yes, homosexual activity IS sin. It is repulsive. And if you describe their activity to a young person who has no experience with them, you will find universal repulsion.

    • Steve October 27, 2017, 2:08 pm

      you’re pathetic.
also, if you describe ANY sexual act(gay or straight) to a child, they are likely to find it disgusting(and if you think about, if humans didn’t have a sex drive, they would consider heterosexual sex(including oral and anal sex) to be disgusting too.)
not everyone is like you(thankfully), and not everyone believes in your holy text(which I can’t help but think is the real/main problem here.)

A little something to think about:
The GQ BLT label encompasses all of us (The Q’s (questioning) is the largest segment also known as the non GBLT’s)
Remember what you learned in high school: “We are all Pink on the inside”
We are Americans, not: fill in the blank Americans.

    iRev
Q, thats just how I roll

    • Steve October 27, 2017, 2:09 pm

is that true? I always thought the Q stood for “queer”? or were joking?

  • Tripwire October 27, 2017, 10:32 am

We used to have a lesbian couple in my gun club. They were a bit worried at first but after a while found they were not only accepted by almost all but were welcomed as friends. Yes a few old slugs wouldn’t accept them even though they never did a thing in public. They were just two ladies shooting with us along with several other women.
I don’t care who you are, what color you are, where you pray if you do, who you sleep with.
I do care that you respect the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Respect the nation and if need be willing to fight for the country.
I had a buddy once (now passed on) that said he hated gays. I said he was full of shit because he would pay good money to watch two hot chicks getting it on. he said that was different lol…
Do I want to see a couple of guys making out in public? No, But I’m not wild about a hetero couple making out in public. But that’s just me.
We all have to live on this dirt clod we call home and it’s best we accept that.
I could give a shit if two gays get married, because it’s non of my business. It harms me not at all.
And for the bible thumpers among us go read the part about casting the first stone or love thy neighbor. or the part about we are all gods children.
We have a shit ton of crap much more important to worry about than this issue.

    • jason emig October 27, 2017, 12:27 pm

  • Jimbo October 27, 2017, 10:30 am

I wish we could all just go shoot and not worry about who is gay or straight. Although lately, I have been exhibiting many of the behaviors associated with lesbianism.

    • G. Giant October 27, 2017, 11:06 am

      Compare.
Do the straight people seek out the homosexuals in order to give them grief? NO
Do the straight people go out of their way to make life miserable for homosexuals? Not generally
Do the homosexuals go out of their way to attack Christians who did not even have any contact with them before? YES.
So where is the source of the conflict?

      • Steve October 27, 2017, 2:16 pm

um…are you joking? straight people/Christians don’t go after, and criticize gay people? withhold their rights from them(e.g. not allowing them to get married), call them sinners, sexual deviants, etc.?
are there some people in the LGBT community who go too far? yes, of course. just like every other community. but just look at even greater number of Christians, Christian groups, Christian protesters, even Christians politicians who try to tell them that WHO THEY ARE is wrong. or trying to impose the morality of the bible(or quran) on all of society in our secular, constitutional, federal republic.

        • Q October 27, 2017, 5:05 pm

The only thing that most people oppose (not just Christians) is marriage between gays. The overwhelming majority of these same people support a civil union of some type, which conveys most of the same rights and privileges. Marriage is between a man and a woman, and nothing else. This predates Christianity and every other religion, from the beginning of time. It is recognized by every religion and culture around the world. Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice, not an immutable characteristic, and therefore should not be offered any special privileges. Other than peacefully opposing \”gay marriage\”, the people are in no way oppressing gays, and certainly aren\’t out to \”get\” them. No, that would be the Religion of Peace which goes out of their way to hunt them down and kill them (as in Pulse massacre). And among the groups who supposedly DO mean them harm (neo-Nazis), they are leftists/socialists, not right wing conservatives. The Dems are the home of hate, not the Right. Islam (who hates and kills everyone not like them, as the Quran directs), The Klan (Democrats from the beginning), Nazis (socialists aligned with Dems), BLM (Dem/socialist racists), AntiFA (violent socialist/anarchists) and many lesser known radicals are violence prone and aligned with the Dems/Left. There is yet to be any organized group of conservative Republicans who set out to oppress any group, violently or otherwise. I support ANY people who wish to defend themselves, by whatever means necessary. I particularly welcome them to any shooting range, they will find a welcoming atmosphere and make many new friends.

I have no intention of harming these confused individuals, the Demonrat Party’s constant lies aside. They leave me alone, I’ll do likewise. Should they choose to join the militant psychos of the Soros army, the ones pushing civil war – that will be another matter soon enough. But they’ll find that their weapons will be much more practical for defending themselves from the ghetto animals that comprise the Demonrats’ voter base, prowling the streets, committing violent crimes and leaving devastation in their wakes. And they become unwitting allies in our defense of the 2nd Amendment. Welcome aboard, alphabets!

  • Steven October 27, 2017, 9:34 am

Shouldn’t they be more worried about radical Islamic terrorists, whom the Far Left seemingly want to protect?

    • Chuck Matson October 27, 2017, 10:33 am

Yeah, they kinda don`t have a clue, but its what we`ve grown to expect from these fruitcakes.

    • G. Giant October 27, 2017, 11:09 am

It is called COMPARTMENTALIZATION. Able to hold conflicting view without going insane. Logical? Not at all
Rational? No way. So they focus on Christians who do NOT actively do violence to them and ignore the muslims who are the friends of the same left that supports them.

  • Ronald Kleiman October 27, 2017, 8:39 am

We support 2A because it is a right. How dare any of us “cold dead hands” people deciding to pick and choose any non criminal profile to be excluded from this right!

    • G. Giant October 27, 2017, 11:11 am

It would seem that the LGBT are the ones declaring that they are taking up arms for the very purpose of defending against US as their perceived enemy. Do you understand this?
It goes along with the idea that you must have an ENEMY to focus the attention of your group on in order to keep them active in their pursuit of their agenda.

      • Steve October 27, 2017, 2:18 pm

        wait, you’re a white supremacist? a neo-nazi?

        • Chuck Matson October 27, 2017, 10:36 am

obama didnt approve anything cupcake, the atf did.

          • G. Giant October 27, 2017, 11:14 am

So you ascribe to the Bill Clinton idea that IF the person does not have his fingerprints all over it, it is not HIS baby –His fault. So does the same thing apply to other things. Like Obamacare, amnesty, open borders? Did Obama not get YOUR credit for doing those things? LOL

  • akjc77 October 27, 2017, 6:09 am

The radical left and Communist touting nuts like Antifa are also picking up firearms. Just ask around at ranges and there have been some infiltrated groups video’d that are wanting to start a civil war .

    • Steven October 27, 2017, 9:11 am

True, and some of these people could be members, as well.

  • mark October 27, 2017, 6:08 am

Just What we need a bunch if queers with guns. We know how the left feels about guns.

    • Gary October 27, 2017, 10:26 am

“just what we need, a bunch of queers with guns.”
If you had shut up after that part of your remark, you Would have sounded intelligent!
But..the rest of the remark proves the truth. Idiot instead.
Like my old pappy used to say, stand there and Look Stupid, OR open your mouth and PROVE it!!
      You Proved it!!
I have some gay friends, mainly people that work with me. Over the last 10 years or so I have taken those that wanted to go along to my gun club. All but one Loved it!
They started by buying .22 rifles, then some bigger calibers. Most got their CCW permit as well. They started out with .22 Rugers mostly.
They now love the sport, and also understand how much longer they Will live if they are armed after they call 911..if they have the time anyway, as opposed to Only having the phone. It’s the difference between surviving, or Hoping they catch YOUR killer!

      • G. Giant October 27, 2017, 11:18 am

You are just wrong. The homosexuals ARE the ones who are most aggressive AGAINST others. You see it every day in reports of a couple traveling from NYC to Colorado or Oregon to a specific Christian baker to order a homosexual wedding cake. DENY THAT. And it will not end with massive monetary lawsuits. They are training on guns for a reason. And it is NOT to defend against attacks that simply are NOT happening.

      • Mike H. October 28, 2017, 10:35 pm

Sounds to me like You might be a GooberGobbler too!

  • Captain Dan October 27, 2017, 3:49 am

Those folks are welcome in my mind.
My beef is using the term far right to describe hate groups! There is no room for hate groups under the conservative right of center political platform. Hate groups exist under their own evil tent, do not let anyone cast a shadow of hatred over someone who is a conservative by grouping them with hate groups. I believe the LGBT community should understand the impact of misguided hatred.

    • Joe Mannix October 27, 2017, 9:33 am

I don’t know. I hate those who wish to curtail my ability to govern myself and raise my kids the way I see fit. Does that make me a bad person?

    • G. Giant October 27, 2017, 11:19 am

Usually there is NO interaction with homosexuals until they decide to impose their agenda on others. They are left alone.
Where they find anger and resistance is when they start to force their ways into schools, churches and into our businesses.
      Would you deny that?

  • Roger October 27, 2017, 3:31 am

The bump stock ban did not Las in an intraduced Bill.

  • MP October 27, 2017, 3:02 am

I think you’ll probably find that they’ll fall into the left side of the 2A bell curve. They will hold their rights as gay Americans above their rights as gun owning Americans, because that is how they first identify. This gun club is a reaction to a perceived threat- not a random upswell of interest from what is typically perceived as an anti 2A population .
I don’t think you’ll see many (if any) of them abandoning the Democratic Party- simply for the reason that the Republican Party is actively trying to strip them of their rights to marry, parent, share insurance, and supports them being denied service by business owners just because of their orientation etc etc. Gun ownership will, by no means, outweigh the rest of their concerns.
I think most of these folks will, indeed, become far more 2A “friendly”, as in, they will exercise their right to keep and bear arms, but almost all will be pro “common sense gun reform” – which would probably include, at the very least, support of universal background checks, closing of gunshow loopholes, bans on high cap magazines, keeping suppressors tightly regulated, and, perhaps, going as far as supporting another assault weapon ban.
Maybe some of them will become full on “gun nuts”, but I wouldn’t count on it.

    • Dr. Strangelove October 27, 2017, 8:22 am

The only thing being “demanded” of them is a respect for the rights of others. Some of them want their rights, like to a gay wedding, to be more important than the religious rights of those who don’t wish to accommodate them.

    • G. Giant October 27, 2017, 11:27 am

Interesting. So where do you suppose the homosexuals got those rights to “marry, parent, (you can’t have kids naturally in that lifestyle) etc. Rights, according to our FOUNDERS and our documents come from God. Where does God say that they have these rights?
And how are you going to claim that THEIR rights have priority over our religious freedoms. That is exactly what is going on when they pointedly go after a Christian, demanding “service” that promotes their agenda.
Let us hear you defend them when they are attacking us?

      • Alan October 30, 2017, 4:23 pm

You’re the confused one if you believe that our ‘natural’ rights come from God.
Those rights existed LOONG before anyone expressed belief in your or any other “God”.
Now, go find a reference to ‘God’ in the Constitution or Bill of Rights.
There are none, and for good reasons, which can be found in the writings of several of our Founding Fathers.
You are grossly misinformed on ‘rights’.

    • Briley October 27, 2017, 12:21 pm

Right on. I know quite a few folks in the LGBT (no Q’s) community and they will, without exception, place their tribe above country and supporting the Second Amendment. Your religious beliefs and rights don’t matter scat to them; they believe you should give up your rights to satisfy what they perceive as their rights. It is not a two way street where if you accept and respect their rights, then they return in kind. And, the Dems play them like a fiddle, as they do women.

  • SuperG October 24, 2017, 11:20 am

I think they’ll be shocked at how welcoming the existing gun owners community will be to them. The liberal rags have been brainwashing them into thinking we are all gay-hating religious nutters.

    • Chris cole October 25, 2017, 2:41 pm

Agree. Took a guy and his guy shooting. Was a Bushmaster XM-15 no less. They were nervous at first as they have never messed with firearms. Well, they may be gay men, but men they still are. They shot up about 350 rounds of ammo and have a pretty decent understanding of how to bump fire an AR.

      • Joe Mannix October 27, 2017, 9:35 am

Bushmaster is a good weapon for a lesbian.

    • G. Giant October 27, 2017, 11:32 am

Maybe you don’t get it. They don’t want to be left alone. They WANT to force their lifestyle on everyone to the point that IF you train even your children that what they do is sin, you will be charged and jailed for a hate crime. Yes, if they left others alone, there would be NO PROBLEMS. But they don’t.
This is similar to having a muslims live next door to you for years with no problem. And then, one day, a group of “freedom fighters” approach the town. And the muslim goes out, greets them and shows them the houses of the Christians. (happened in Syria)

      • Yep October 27, 2017, 12:18 pm

You are correct. While the Conservative frame of mind is live and let live the leftist is you will be forced to accept what we believe or you will pay one way or another!

      • Scott October 27, 2017, 12:40 pm

Sir Giant: Good point! And this is PRECISELY HOW The “PTB” (Powers That Be) create all manner of “division,” to radicalize and turn different splinter groups into “haters” that then in turn attack (with weapons) the latest chosen “enemy…” (Which is always supported by the opposing “clergies,” BTW.) Military tactics 101, flip sides of the same Roman (or previous) empirical coinage, choose your “age” going back, into time… The ONLY REASON there is currently (and for the first time, ever?) a “gay (or leftist) agenda” is because the same people that brought us Marxism (masquerading as equality, to their government “entitlements” programs, under Sabbatean Frankists like: Marx, Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin, etc.) also brought the US reinc. (under their “UN…”) and the “leftist agenda” no 2100, on the heels of their two “World Wars,” their US “Civil War,” “War of 1812,” and of course the (much fabled) “Revolutionary War!” (Months after their formation of the Bavarian Illuminati branch, on the coat tails of their successful “revolution,” in France…)

The so- called “British” (Sex, Drugs and R & R) Invasion,” feminism (family, community and nation) rift, and now a half century later… we have the SAME THING they did in London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Beijing or any place the .000001% go, then DESTROY. The (proven to get results!) “agenda” is leftist radicalization and amoral behavior, deteriorating into out and out “debauchery…” then civil war, (Socialist) anarchy, and complete destruction of a society. Then thew come in with tanks in the streets, etc. and put everyone (including the former cops, military, radicals, mercs, etc. they had doing their initial “dirty work” for them…) into Rome reinc.’s “FEMA encampments,” and the SOJ’s latest “Inquisition” will send most of us, to the crematorium…) This is HOW the empire WORKS, in “action! (i.e. Russia, China, WW1 & 2, anyone???) The namesakes, peoples, groups, wars, or supposed (aka: outward) “agendas” may appear to CHANGE (afterall, the SAME PTB start, or co- opt every one of them!) but the power and wealth “consolidation plan” was, is and shall REMAIN THE SAME, unless and until people start waking the HELL UP and “stand down,” unless and until it’s against their REAL ENEMY??? As they say “UNITED, we STAND… and DIVIDED, we FALL!” The Spartans (or Gladiators) illustrated this point far better than Rome’s legions. 🙂 WST

  • Justin Opinion October 23, 2017, 4:00 pm

Good for them. And whether one sees the access to and competency of firearms as potential protection from some right-wing mob, or Antifa-types (one of which actually exists), it is encouraging to see Americans come to understand the very simple and basic meaning of our Second Amendment. I echo Blannelberry’s list of positives and welcome them to the club. I hope they find good trainers, learn well, and stay safe.

    • Robert Smith October 23, 2017, 11:14 pm

Yes, good for them, but are they sincere or is this just a publicity stunt? Do you really think they will line up with the NRA in opposing additional gun laws?

      • Rick October 27, 2017, 7:30 am

No. Like many self-described Leftist gun owners, they don’t get that their voting pattern leads to more restrictions, not more freedom.

        • TIM Smith October 27, 2017, 10:54 am

          Correct!

        • Brad October 27, 2017, 10:26 pm

I am not trying to be sarcastic but they weren’t trying to push the 2A envelope with those pump shotguns and single shot .22’s. They are very aware of their voting patterns and despite “tooling up”, they’ll always be for more government and more restrictions.

      • Brian October 27, 2017, 8:15 am

I hope they are smart enough to not line up with the nra to protect their 2A rights. nra is nothing more then a fund raising organization that lines their own pockets.

        • TIM Smith October 27, 2017, 10:55 am

Brian is very informed about the NRA, said no one ever.
